Laborer/Operator

The Town of Limington is seeking applications for an upcoming position within the Highway Division of the Department of Public Works. The preferred candidate will be able to demonstrate their experience with equipment operation; however, general laborers are encouraged to apply. A valid CDL-Class A or B is desired but not required, if the candidate is willing to obtain within a negotiated timeframe. The position requires the candidate to be able to lift up to 80 pounds, sit or stand for long periods of time, and kneel, crawl, climb, or bend for considerable amounts of time. Work is performed both inside and outside year-round in all weather conditions. The candidate must be able to work nights, weekends, holidays, on call time and overtime as determined by the Highway Supervisor. The position requires the ability to report to the DPW facility within one half hour from the time of being requested to do so. The Highway Division currently works five 8-hour shifts (40 hours), with the possibility of shifting to four 10-hour shifts (Summer season).

The Town of Limington offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including 100% employer paid health, vision and dental insurance for employee, short term disability, one year’s salary life insurance, 13 paid holidays, 96 hours PTO (first year), MPERS 2C retirement and the ability to accrue up to 120 hours comp. time annually. The minimum hourly pay starts at $27.81 and may increase with demonstrated qualifications.
